The MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Championships remained in the North and ventured into the legendary Kielder Forest complex for the fourth round of the 2022 series. From the Northumberland market town of Hexham, 6 gravel stages (two loops of three) awaited some 86 crews who contested the rally.

The Motorsport UK British Rally Championship returned with the Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton to carry the honours of opening up the new look 2022 season. After becoming the first closed road stage rally in England back in 2018, the Clacton based event which is organised by the very capable Chelmsford Motor Club would kick start “The Battle of Britain” in the race for new BRC & JBRC Champions.
Just two weeks had passed since the opening round of the Pirelli Ravenol Welsh National Rally Championship season at the Rally North Wales; where Mathew Hirst alongside Co-Driver Declan Dear dominated the rally from start to finish.
Just five months had passed since the Rally Nuts Stages closed the 2021 MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally season and since then, there had been little rest for Midlands Manner Motor Club as they prepared to host the second round of the 2022 Championship.
As the series moves into its 64th year, The British Rally Championship returns to the stages with The Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton in the South East of England (23-24 April).
