REPORT / ARGYLL RALLY 2025

From the stunning Cowal Peninsula in Scotland, the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally would return to host the Asphalt, British Historic and Scottish Rally Championships.

Organised by the Mull Car Club, the event featured over 66 competitive miles across 16 Asphalt stages. Spread over two days, a little under one hundred crews would tackle this magnificent event from its rally HQ in Dunoon.

The Probite British Rally Championship and the Protyres Asphalt Rally Championship both kicked off their 2025 seasons on the fast, flowing tarmac of East Yorkshire with the East Riding Stages, an event often dubbed the “English Ypres” for its tight lanes, open cuts, and unforgiving ditches. Based around the historic market town of Beverley, the rally has grown in stature in recent years, earning praise for its slick organisation and strong local support.

ARC / RD7+8 / RALI CEREDIGION 2024

The battle for the Protyres Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship title would rage on at JDS Machinery Rally Ceredigion. The pretty Welsh seaside town of Aberystwyth would play host to Round 7, the penultimate round of the 2024 Championship, where a 3-day closed road event would deliver a dominant performance for one of the championship contenders.

The Protyre Motorsport UK would relocate from Argyll, Scotland to Llandovery, Wales for the sixth round of its 2024 Championship. A staple in the series, the Nigel Ferguson Tour Of Epynt Rally, Organised by the Port Talbot Motor Club would once again see the Asphalt protagonists go wheel to wheel on the infamous smooth roads of the military ranges over a two-day affair.

ARC / RD5 / ARGYLL RALLY 2024

The 2024 Protyre MUK Asphalt Rally Championship continued its Scottish tour, moving northeast to the scenic Cowal Peninsula for the fifth round of the championship.

The Argyll Rally, run by the experienced members of the Mull Automobile Club, boasted significant expertise in organizing closed-road events and had prepared an outstanding event for 2024. Based once again at Dunoon Stadium, this year’s weekend offered 75 stage miles of top-class closed-road rallying, spread over two days. After two runs through the fan-favorite Dunoon Town Centre on Friday, five stages in the surrounding countryside lay ahead, several under the cover of darkness. This was followed by a further eleven stages on Saturday.

ARC / RD4 / JIM CLARK RALLY 2024

Following a dramatic double-header at the Manx Rally, the ProTyres Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championships would return to action for Round 4 in the Scottish Borders at the Jim Clark Rally (May 24/25).

From the town of Duns in the county of Berwickshire, Scotland, the Jim Clark Rally is affectionately named after the 1963 & 65 Formula One Champion and would once again offer up a challenging two-day, 86-mile Asphalt rally across 14 stages.

The 2024 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship would hope to build on what was a very successful 2023. The championship would kick off at the bi-annual North West Stages in Garstang, Lancashire. A strong entry would contest the opening round, with over 100 crews registering for the championship.
