The 2024 Protyre MUK Asphalt Rally Championship continued its Scottish tour, moving northeast to the scenic Cowal Peninsula for the fifth round of the championship.
The Argyll Rally, run by the experienced members of the Mull Automobile Club, boasted significant expertise in organizing closed-road events and had prepared an outstanding event for 2024. Based once again at Dunoon Stadium, this year’s weekend offered 75 stage miles of top-class closed-road rallying, spread over two days. After two runs through the fan-favorite Dunoon Town Centre on Friday, five stages in the surrounding countryside lay ahead, several under the cover of darkness. This was followed by a further eleven stages on Saturday.
The 2024 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship would hope to build on what was a very successful 2023. The championship would kick off at the bi-annual North West Stages in Garstang, Lancashire. A strong entry would contest the opening round, with over 100 crews registering for the championship.
The 2024 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship commences this weekend, launching in Garstang with the North West Stages (March 22/23). One of the most anticipated rallies in the UK, the event is set to return to its Myerscough College base and kicks off with the well-received ceremonial start in Garstang town on Friday evening. The action takes place over 10 stages, covering 58 competitive stage miles on the Saturday. This also marks the first initial crossover event of three with the British Rally Championship.
