The Showground Stages returns for a second year in its newly revamped format, featuring ten short stages with no splits! The route remains largely unchanged from last year, and once again, this popular event boasts a full entry list alongside a waiting list of reserves.

Lee Edwards and Robbie Pugh, in Lee’s V6 Escort G3, return as clear favourites. They dominated last year’s event, taking the lead from the second stage and only dropped out of the top two stage times on a single occasion.

Ian and Dan Evans, seeded second and third respectively, will once again compete in their rapid little Novas. Both have extensive experience at Builth’s showground, having taken part in most events held there. With numerous podium finishes and a strong track record of finishing near the top of the standings, they will no doubt be pushing Edwards for the win. 

Other drivers to watch include former Welsh Rally Champion Dylan Davies in a Mk2 Escort and Rallycross ace Jack Thorne, who trades in his usual Peugeot Supercar for a historic spec MKII Escort. Also worth keeping an eye on is Xlerate’s own Jack Morris, who will be co-driving for Sean Jones in a V8-powered Vauxhall Viva.
